The Legend of AIA!
When I started my first AI Aardvark repaint, Canadian Boeing 737-200 C-GCPP, in May 2003, I knew I was never going back to the world of fictional repaints. I had spent enough time and energy on fictional repaints and gained enough Photoshop experience and it was time for me to enter the world of realistic repaints. Boback was a great help. His bullying (helpful bullying, of course!) raised my expectations to nothing less than perfection. I mastered the art of Pen Tool whithin 3 weeks and the result was the most accurate Delta Express B737-200 PPG on the net (it still is the most accurate one!).
When I was asked to unofficially join AIA to help on B767 project, I was really surprised. I never could have imagined that one day I would work with such great 3D/2D designers. I was at least 10 years younger than the youngest member of the team and I had to prove that I was just as good. Fortunately, I remained an unofficial repainter for the group ever since(they called us “Independent Contractor AIA Painters” later). The release of B767 in October 2003 was a huge success for AI Aardvark and a fantastic experience for me. By the time I finished my last B767 repaint, I mastered the layered paint kits and Photoshopping was as easy as oppening a can of Pepsi for me!!!
Over these three years I have had more fun that anyone could have asked for from an Internet community. AI Aardvark has brought me more fun than Flight Simulator’s brought me since FS4 in 1989. I thank you all, Aardvarkins, and I wish you all the very best in your life.
