Back to Basics!

Tomorrow will be the first day of the new academic year. Lectures, labs, assignments, exams, rubish coffee from the coffee machine, pub food and sometimes, if there is any time left, a Friday night out with friends. A pint or two, perhaps. Am I happy? No, not really. Sad? Hmm, no. I don’t think I’m sad either! Excited? I’m kindda used to it. I’ve been studying since 1986. It doesn’t tickle my fancy anymore! I honestly cannot remember the last time I enjoyed studying for an exam. I know there must have been once or twice in all these years, but I can’t remember it… Anyway, who gives a $hit about what I feel about my assignments and exams.

I have had a fantastic summer. Fortunately, almost all my plans went well. I saw my parents and sister. Spent more money on cinema tickets in 20 days than I spend on food every month. I went to Stockholm and saw my uncle after 3 years. And I am still yet to visit Italy. I will have to wait for Mr Amigo on this one. I had one of the happiest Birthday parties I have ever had with five of the coolest individulas I have ever met. There aren’t enough words to thank you guys. I know it sounds cheesy. But I also know that you know that I don’t talk like that unless I mean it! There, three “that” in one sentence!

And now, a little confession… I’ve been called fat, for F knows how many times, by a fat dude called, Mr Amigo. That didn’t hurt even one bit. Last Monday, in Frankfurt airport, after hugs and kisses and hellos, first thing in the taxi, was a tricky question regarding my beer drinking habits. You know, beer belly and all that… Here goes the confession… I didn’t really like the questin! But when I saw the belly in the mirror, well, errm… I think I kindda… Agreed! I’m working on it now, though. It’ll be gone and replaced with a brand new six pack [brand new, cuz' I've never had one]!!! And then I will write a book about my own special diet and exercises and give you all a free signed copy. You’ll see!
