Private: Babel!

BabelIf you liked watching 21 Grams, Traffic and Crash’s weird storylines, you shouldn’t miss Babel. I have seen a lot of good movies this year, but I’m going to have to put my money for this year’s Oscar’s on Bebel. I’m a sucker for simple and believable movies and I just don’t care whether the story is fictional or not. Babel made me think how very small and stupid mistakes could turn into nasty disasters that could ruin lives.

I was really surprised to see how two Moroccan kids who probably never have heard of Brad Pitt or Cate Blanchett before were acting just as powerful as the mighty Hollywood’s Million Dollar Superstars. But what I liked most was the unexplained parts of the story. I never figured out why Susan was mad at Richard or what happened to Yussef and his dad. Did they save his Brother? What happened to Hassan? He didn’t do anything wrong, did he? Even Yasujiro said he was a good man and he sure looked like a honest and hard working person to me! Was Santiago ever cought? I hope so. Aaah, and what the hell was written in Chieko’s letter? Love poem? Apology? Truth about her mother’s death?

Dammit. This movie made me use my brain more than I ever use it in a week! I think I should go watch Celebrity Big Brother to rest my brain for a while!
