My contribution to Daniel’s blog project [Daily Blog Tips].
To pick only one blogging mistake, I have to go through a very long list. “_blank targeting” would be a good start. Limiting my blogroll to my friends, jumping from one topic to another, lack of updates and zillion other mistakes. There is no end to this list. But there’s one mistake that bugs me more than others…
Ever since I migrated to my own domain, I’ve been regreting the fact that I hesitated for so long. I remember spending nearly a week to get my old blogspot theme to work with the “improved Blogger” interface. In the end, I had to give up. I registered with Wordpress.com and played around with its interface for a couple of days and next thing I knew, I was CSSing and Photoshopping the new Finglish! Of course, hosting did cost me around 200 USD, but it was worth it. It was like dumping IE after years and exploring a whole new world with Firefox. You have no idea what you are missing until you actualy do it. Go ahead and dump the junk and have a fresh start. You’ll feel good!

I saw your Blogspot blog. It was so coooool. You’ve really played up well with a template. I had to check the URL to confirm whether it was a Blogspot blog! :!
Thanks Shankar. The third column you saw on my Blogger template is less than a year old. I somehow managed to hack the new widget interface and added a third column, but it looked really ugly to me.
But that wasn’t the only problem. WP gives much more options in organising my blog. Plus, there’s always a new plug-in to play with. You aren’t limited to the default interface. Like I said, it’s like comparing IE and Firefox. They’re both popular and famous. IE because it’s owned by a giant and people are used to it! Firefox because it’s simply good! But once you go Firefox, you will never go back!
You’re right, Jimbo. WordPress is great! BTW, Please install a “Notify me of follow-up comments plugin here”.
Done! Thanks!
